SSAA Bundaberg Q32
Meet our Range officer: Adam. Adam started shooting when he was 12. He has always had a fascination with everything guns!Adam joined Q32 with his wife almost 3 years ago because they decided to get into handgun shooting. Adams favourite guns are his S.M.L.E 303 and CZ Shadow 2. Adam has looked after range passes for the last 1.5 years. He is also a Safety Course instructor, so his range commitments keep him very busy. When Adam isn’t at the range he will be tinkering in his shed or working on automation projects. Thanks for everything you do for the club! ... See MoreSee Less

Meet our Range officer: Barry (aka Baz, Baza or old man)Barry started shooting when he was 10 years old ‘back when you could’. He first started shooting to help his dad control wild pigs in the corn crop. Barry’s favourite gun is an STI 38 Super. His favourite competitions are Action and IPSC.Barry joined Q32 in around 2012. He is also (and has been for a few years) our fearless president for Q32. Barry is down as the Duty Range Officer at Range 2 more than anyone else (3 times a month!). Even when Barry is not at the range he is usually busy doing work on behalf of our range and its members. Thank you for all of your hard work and striving to constantly improve our club Baz! ... SSAA Bundaberg Q32
Thinking about getting your pistol (Category H) licence? Here is the full list of steps you need to undertake to obtain your license:1. Applicants that do not have a current A/B shooters licence must first complete and lodge a Form (QP515 – Application for a Statement of Eligibility to join an Approved Pistol Shooting Club) with QLD Police. If you are successful, a Statement of Eligibility will be sent, and is valid for 3 months. You will also need to obtain character references from two people you have known for at least two years. The Statement of Eligibility and references need to be provided to SSAA Bundaberg when you purchase a range pass. 2. You need to be a member of a ‘Pistol Section’ of an approved shooting club. Being a member of SSAA national alone is not enough. If you are not already a member, you must join SSAA National (see the SSAA). Then apply to SSAA Bundaberg by purchasing a range pass.3. Complete a course in Safety Training & Firearm handling for Category H. You will be issued a Statement of Attainment soon after completing the course. The Statement of Attainment is valid for 12 months. 4. Participate in at least 3 handgun competitions within a 6-month period from the date you purchase a range pass (become a financial member of our club). Details of your shoots this are to be recorded on your Pistol Participation Record Sheet. 5. After this 6-month period, you can apply for your licence. Apply for your license on the QLD Police Service website. Your application will require copies of your safety course certificate, pistol participation record sheet and also a form QP518A (declaration from the club regarding membership). 6. Once your application is approved by QLD Police, you will receive an email requesting you attend a participating Australia Post outlet to provide your proof of identity ... See MoreSee Less

SSAA Bundaberg Q32
We’re looking forward to reopening after the Christmas break! As notified recently in our newsletter, proof of vaccination will now be required to attend either the rifle or pistol range. Therefore you must use the Check-in QLD app on your phone and show the Duty Range Officer your phone with the green tick (or relevant certificate) which confirms that you have been vaccinated, otherwise entry will be refused. Vaccine exemptions are accepted. As you may be aware SSAA Bundaberg (Q32) is a Branch of SSAA QLD. SSAA QLD branches were provided with two options under which they could continue to operate. Both options were going to result in some form of segregation or exclusion therefore this was a difficult decision. In light of the controversy regarding this topic we will close for comments on this post. We are hopeful that this will be a short term arrangement and that full participation on the range can continue in the future. ... See MoreSee Less
